Next-business-day pickup may be available for eligible parts ordered before the daily cutoff. Eligibility is confirmed when we accept the order and depends on the drawing, stock, process and current production position. Delivery and freight do not carry the local pickup timing promise.

What file do I need for a laser cutting quote?

A clean, 1:1 scale DXF is the best starting point for flat laser-cut parts. DWG files are also accepted as standard-lane candidates. STEP and STP files are welcome, but are always held for engineering review before the job is accepted.

Yes. CutFold Direct handles straightforward sheet-metal folding as well as laser cutting. Include bend information and key dimensions in your drawing or notes. We review bend feasibility, material choice and any critical dimensions before confirming the quote and production acceptance.

Which sheet metals do you hold in stock?

Accepted Answer

The published stock range is Aluminium 5005 in 2, 3, 5 and 6 mm, plus Mild Steel HRPO in 1.95, 2.95, 4.95 and 5.95 mm. Off-list materials or gauges are sent to a manual quote instead of being assumed available.

Where can I collect finished parts?

Local pickup is from the manufacturing site in Heidelberg West, Victoria. We confirm the exact collection address and time with order acceptance. Delivery is also available across Victoria, with freight quoted separately and without a next-business-day delivery promise.

Do you accept STEP files for sheet-metal quotes?

Accepted Answer

Yes. STEP and STP files can be uploaded, but they are automatically placed in the engineering-review lane. A team member checks the model, confirms that it represents manufacturable sheet-metal geometry, and requests any missing dimensions or flat-pattern information before production acceptance.

Can I upload more than one part?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can submit up to ten DXF, DWG, STEP or STP files in one quote request, with a combined browser-side limit of 25 MB per file. If the parts require different materials or finishes, explain the allocation clearly in the notes.

Can you powder coat the finished parts?

Accepted Answer

Mill finish is the standard path. Standard-colour and custom-colour powder coating can be requested, but both are held for review. Colour, finish system, masking and presentation requirements must be confirmed before the quote and production timing are accepted.

What jobs need a human estimator?

Accepted Answer

Work involving welding, assemblies, cabinets, mailboxes, inserts, tapping, threads, structural use or hinges needs a human estimator. The online form keeps your files and configuration, then sends the full pack for manual review. No public price is shown for these jobs.

What quantities can I request online?

Accepted Answer

The form accepts whole-number quantities from 1 to 10,000. Quantities above 500 are automatically held for review. The team may recommend a different production path for large runs, nested families of parts or work with unusual handling and finishing requirements.

Does CutFold Direct deliver outside Melbourne?

Delivery can be requested across Victoria. Enter the delivery address in the quote form and freight will be quoted separately. The conditional next-business-day claim applies only to eligible local-pickup work, not to freight transit times or third-party carrier performance.
